Stories of Birth

What Families Are Saying

Every birth tells a story, one of strength, love, and connection. The families we serve are at the heart of everything we do, and their experiences reflect the care, compassion, and trust that define Grace Midwifery Collective. Here are a few words from families who invited us to walk beside them through one of life’s most sacred journeys.

I could never say enough good things about Grace & the practice she has put together. Some words that come to mind are: loving, caring, kind, gentle, patient. Her heart is midwifery and you can tell by just talking to her for a minute. Can’t imagine birthing with anyone else. She will always hold a special place in my heart. All of the women I come across in her birth studio are all so kind and loving. You can truly tell they all love their work..

I am so thankful for the midwives at Grace Midwifery Collective. I love how my son and daughters were included in my prenatal care, and having them at my birth was everything I had hoped for. The midwives answered their questions and made everyone feel safe and comfortable. I love that I never had to worry about anything being done without my informed consent. They went above and beyond to get to know me and my family. I felt supported and empowered to trust my body and my intuition. After the birth, since I didn’t need lactation support, grace set up a postpartum massage in my home, which was exactly what I needed! I wish every woman had the opportunity to experience the beauty of homebirth with a team of women like GMC.

A birth story is shaped by intention. I was asked, what is your intention and then we set a standard to achieve it. It doesn’t mean you won’t face giants. It means you and your care provider having your intended heart posture no matter how long the labor, heavy decisions, or results that are not ideal. Together, you can set the atmosphere. Leila enveloped our intention, with an absence of fear. She set the stage for the desires of our hearts. We were lead through informed consent and supported through the laughter and the tears. There was never once a lack of hope or confidence. The intention turned into reality as we walked hand in hand through this transformative experience. With her excellence in practice and delightful charm, I would welcome anyone to invite her into your story.

Leila is a fantastic midwife. During our prenatal appointments, I felt like I was the only one in her world – she was so, so loving and focused on me and my life and my baby. And then during my birth, Leila was the epitome of devotion… setting an alarm on her phone for every 15 minutes all night long while I slowly labored. She would nap for a few minutes and then wake up sweetly and administer tinctures, spinning babies techniques, or just suggest that I rest or snuggle with my husband. At my postpartum visits, she had cups of tea brewed and ready for me as we laughed through memories of the twists and turns of my birth. Leila is the best. I would 1000% have her as my midwife again!

I have supported two home births now as a doula where Grace was the midwife. I am impressed with her professional and calming energy. From my point of view, as the doula, her encouragement with the laboring moms that was building, melts away and it’s just oxytocin flowing. Her current midwife assistants Charisa and Alexandra are just as knowledgeable and calming as Grace. If I were to have children, I would immediately hire the team at Grace Midwifery Collective for my prenatal care and birth team.
